Game description

In this third and final entry in the Art of Fighting series, the story shifts from Ryo Sakazaki to his best friend and rival, Robert Garcia, as he ventures into Mexico to try and locate Freia Lawrence, a childhood friend, who asked for his help. However, he leaves without the consent of The Garcia Foundation, which sends an agent named Karman Cole to get him back. But not everything is as simple as it looks... because Robert is not the only one looking for Freia. Art of Fighting 3: The Path of The Warrior features ten playable characters with different fighting styles, a completely new fighting system based on joystick and button combinations, and incredibly detailed graphics and animation.

A quick intro to the game's controls. A Hard Brow indeed.
You can choose between eight fighters plus the bosses (who are located off-screen).
You get a bit of story before every fight. Note that these intros are missing from the original Arcade version.
Every character has his own storyline going on at the same time as everyone else!
All characters have regular attacks that are activated by pressing a direction and a button at the same time.
There are, of course, special moves that use your spirit bar.
You can charge your Spirit bar by holding down an attack button or blocking attacks. It'll also refill on its own, but very slowly.
Taunting the enemy will lower their Spirit bar a bit.
Any attempts to perform a special move without enough Spirit to use it will fail.
You can also hit enemies while they're on the ground.
Every character can intercept any normal, non-aerial attacks and throw their opponent to the ground by press A+B and holding the stick towards your character's back at the same time.
If you defeat an enemy who has very low energy with a Super Desperation Move, you'll perform an Ultimate K.O., which ends the fight immediately.
There's no point system; instead, your high score is the time you take to clear the game.
Hooray, you won!
Your character moves to different points in the map as the story advances.
