Game description

The legend of cricket makes a welcome come back after years of absence and does it with style. Take part in a World Tour, tournaments and a Challenge mode where you can relive some classic cricketing moments (the graphics even go black and white) like the first Ashes match where England lost back in 1882. Simple controls make the game as pick up and play as you could possibly want so you don't need to be a cricket genius to enjoy the game or understand what's going on.

The game's main menu
Before playing a game it's a good idea to get in some practice, as in real cricket this is done in the nets. After selecting the bowler and the batsman the player can tailor their practice session
A session in the nets doing batting practice. The red circle shows where the ball is expected to land so the player can move in the crease. This changes to a dot when the ball is bowled
This is the initial player creation screen. It's followed by Bowling Stats, Fielding Stats, Batting Stats and the Kit bag where the type of bat is chosen and sunscreen preferences are set
The player can replay some Classic Matches. The Birth Of The Ashes is the only one that is unlocked at the start, others such as the Bodyline Test are unlocked by completing previous matches
Playing a World XI match against Australia. All matches start with a coin toss. There are no crowds in this screenshot which may be a game feature or an emulation flaw
Australia to receive the ball. The dots in the lower right show the positions of the fielders
All dismissals and good strokes are followed by an action replay
As in the televised game there are frequent appeals for a dismissal which the umpire must make a decision on based on Hawkeye
At the end of an over the game shows the line of all the balls bowled
When the ball is struck the camera follows it across the field. The batsmen only run if the player presses Triangle.
